The Trouble with Men
1 They believe house fairies (ie us) do all the washing-up and laundry, take the rubbish out and replenish stocks.
2 They expect praise having completed a tiny task (despite taking ages over it).
3 They suffer from sporadic blocked nostril syndrome — the inability to smell their own bodily odours, foul bins or blocked sinks — but are sniffer dogs when you’ve drunk too much white wine or there’s a roast in the oven.
6 Datelexia: an inability to remember (or care about) things we’ve planned. Ditto birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine’s.
12 They leave bachelor-style coin pile-ups everywhere.
13 They have zero patience for shopping except when it’s for them, which they pursue with clinical OCD.
18 Their “quick drink” brings them back, wasted, at 4am (and, apparently, also turns their mobile off).
24 They lust after anything with bare legs and large breasts.
25 They believe Cheryl Cole is 100% natural.

Great Foods You Aren't Eating
Baked beans
Great for soluble fibre (the type that helps to lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels), baked beans also give you 6g of protein per average serving; about the same as in a medium-size egg. Have them on toast, with a baked potato or, if you absolutely must, straight from the can.
Green tea
Swap a couple of cups of your builder’s brew a day for green tea. Especially rich in polyphenols, green tea antioxidants have antibacterial and antithrombotic roles, and regulate the immune system. The lazy man’s solution to boosting antioxidants, which may also help to fight tooth decay.
Poached eggs
Eggs give us lecithin, which is turned into choline once eaten, a vital component of transmitters in our brains involved in memory. This brain-boosting food is also fabulously filling — eat two for breakfast (poached or boiled, not fried) and, according to research, you will eat 400 calories less during the rest of the day.
Dark chocolate
The dark varieties (above 70 per cent cocoa solids) are rich in antioxidants. Studies have shown that flavanol-packed cocoa acts in an “aspirin-like” way to stop blood cells clumping together.
Almonds
Ditch cholesterol-raising snacks such as biscuits and cakes and trade them in for a fistful of almonds. Research shows that this will help you to feel full and cut back on artery-clogging fats.
Apples
With an astonishing 150 supernutrients packed into each apple you eat, this easy-to-transport, easy-to-eat, no-waste fruit is especially good for quercetin, an antioxidant that appears from laboratory research to help to kill off viruses such as herpes, which causes cold sores. Quercetin sits just under the skin so never peel your apples before eating.

Ouch! Thunk! Yipe!
Torontoist has a terrific article on a series of site specific stencils that have appeared over the last few days on Harbord Street. Words like "OUCH!" "THUNK!" "OOF!" "YIPE!" have been painted to highlight to cyclists the deep potholes and cracks along the paths.
The stencils were done by Urban Repair Squad.

Vibrator Part Left in Woman's Genitals
A Taiwanese woman lodged a police report against her boyfriend after he forced a vibrator into her private part without her consent.
Worse, the boyfriend - a medical student in his 30s - did not notice that a part of the vibrator had broken off and was left inside the woman's body.
His girlfriend, known only as Xiao Man, found out about the broken bit after taking an X-ray after suffering pain in her vagina for three days.
According to Liberty Times, the man had numerous times requested his girlfriend of three years to use a vibrator while they have sex but was rejected.
Recently, when the couple was having sex, the man took out a vibrator and put it into Xiao Man's private part without her knowing.
He stopped when she complained of pain and quickly pulled out the vibrator and hid it, not knowing that the front part of the sex toy had broken off and was left in her vagina.
The boyfriend effing deserves a kick in the balls or more!

Day Dreaming
Finally picked up "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby and finished it a few weeks ago. It made me think of what my Top Five Favourite Songs of All Time are...I'm not sure if what number this song is but Aretha Franklin's Day Dreaming is definitely on the list...pretty much because I always feel like saying..."baby, let's get away.." and, of course, it's her amazingly sweet voice.

:: India is A Place...::
...Where their cows are fatter than their children.
...Where the sense of colours lies.
...Where they can embrace thousands of gods.
...Where poverty does not hold back one's smile.
...or a strive for education.
...Where I wanted to go back even before I left.
Male PMS
When most people think of PMS they think of women. However, researchers recently discovered that many men suffer from a condition similar to PMS called irritable male syndrome (IMS). Men with IMS often experience mood swings, stomach cramps and even hot flashes. These symptoms and others are caused by a drop in the male hormone testosterone.
IMS can manifest at any time because, unlike women who experience monthly hormone cycles, men experience a daily hormone cycle. Males' levels of testosterone are highest after waking and fall throughout the day.
Irritable Male Syndrome Symptoms
anger
anxiety
hypersensitivity
irritability.
Changes in the male hormone cycle can also cause males to experience the following:
a lack of arousal
backaches
headaches
hot flashes
sexual dysfunction
stomach cramps.
The male version of PMS can cause men to feel antisocial and depressed and can leave them unable to concentrate...
HA! PMS+IMS = A NIGHTMARE
See the causes and how to avoid...

Vice Travel Guide to Liberia
Bless the Vice team for their bravery and the most, if I could say, real and affecting piece I've watched. To add this, I don't think I will be going there any soon. Well, "any soon" is a little bit of an understatement I'd say....
